Continuing Education Requirements - Sales and Broker Associate
In order to renew a real estate sales associate or broker associate license on active status, the associate must complete 21-clock hours of real estate continuing education requirements each 3-year license term.
Associates are required to take, each license term, 6-clock hours of continuing education consisting of 6 (1 hour) required subjects as approved by the Commission and 15-clock hours consisting of elective subjects. The 6 required subjects are listed as follows (this requirement does not apply to a provisional sales associate type license):

Broker Manager, Broker Proprietor or Branch Broker License
A broker who holds or has held the license type of Broker Manager (BM), Proprietor Broker (BP), or Branch Broker (BB) during any portion of their current license term shall be required to complete 21-clock hours each license term. The 21-clock hours must consist of a 15-clock hour Broker in Charge course and at least 2 courses of the 6 required subjects as noted herein:
Provisional Sales Associate (PS) License
Provisional sales associates have a separate and unique post-license requirement of 45-clock hours and are not required to complete the 21-clock hour continuing education requirements. This post-license course must be taken after the provisional sales license has been issued and must be completed prior to the one year license expiration date.
Nonresident Real Estate Continuing Education Requirements
Nonresident real estate licensees who complete real estate continuing education requirements in another license jurisdiction will only be required to take 3 one-clock hour courses on subjects specified by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission prior to license renewal. The one hour courses must be on the subjects of License Code and Rules (CAR), Broker Relationships (BRA) and Oklahoma Contracts (CON). Click here to Register for the nonresident continuing education package.
If a nonresident real estate licensee maintains their real estate license on inactive status or they are exempt from real estate continuing education requirements in their resident state, then the nonresident must complete 21-clock hours of real estate continuing education subject matter for their upcoming real estate Oklahoma license renewal instead of the 3 hours as noted previously.

All courses successfully taken at Oklahoma Real Estate Education will be automatically recorded at the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission.
Special notice: When registering for the courses please use your Oklahoma license number so that we can record your hours to your license record at the Commission.
Inactive Licensees
A licensee who maintains inactive license status throughout the license term is not required to complete continuing education requirements; however, they must pay their license fee each license term. If a licensee desires to activate the license during a term, the licensee will be required to complete the required hours prior to activation of a real estate license.
