Real Estate Broker In Charge

​​​Real estate licensees, with the exception of provisional sales associates, broker managers, broker proprietors and branch brokers, will be required to complete at least one-clock hour in six different required courses each license renewal term.

The effective date of this change is September 12, 2014 and the required subject matter courses are: Broker Relationships Act, Code and Rule Update, Contracts and Forms, Current Issues, Fair Housing, Professional Conduct.

The remaining clock hours may consist of elective subject matter in courses approved by the Commission.
Provisional sales associates are exempt from the continuing education requirement during their first (one-year) license term as they must complete a comprehensive 45-clock hour post-license course prior to their license expiration.

Broker managers, broker proprietors and branch brokers will be required to complete the 15-clock hour broker-in-charge course and at least 6-clock hours in two of the six required courses as noted above.
Nonresident licensees will now be required to take three required subjects each license renewal term on Broker Relationships, Code and Rule Update and Contracts and Forms.
