Real Estate Licensees Hit Plateau

Real Estate Licensees Hit Plateau

The number of real estate licensees have remained constant over the past year with the current number of licensees at 18,200 – a year ago the count was 18,500. It reflects a loss in total licensees but only a slight one compared to previous years. The largest loss of licensees occurred in the license types of inactive brokers and sales associates; however, the good news is that provisional sales associates significantly increased.

Each month real estate licenses expire at a lapsed rate of approximately 30% which is high and why it is very good news that the number of new licensees have increased.

To put these numbers in perspective, in 2007 there were approximately 23,500 licensees and since that time the number of licensees have continued to decline.
